Having grown up in Dublin to a mother from a farm in County Galway and a father from a farm in Southwest Cork, our weekends and holidays were always spent in one or the other. This was a great experience, particularly during the lambing season when I had the chance to bottle-feed the very cute orphaned lambs. These lambs were kept in the house and always became pets. I’ve always considered myself to be very lucky to have had such close contact with so many different farmyard animals, something that so many children born in a city never get to experience.
